Mentally and Spiritually

The Holy Week is a time of reflection and spiritual renewal for Christians around the world. As a devout Christian, specifically Catholic, I look forward to this time of year when I can deepen my faith and connect with God in a more profound way. This essay will explore my personal experience during the Holy Week.

The Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday, which commemorates Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem. On this day, I attended mass with my family, and we each received blessed palms. The atmosphere was joyful as we sang hymns and celebrated Jesus' arrival in the Holy City. It was a beautiful start to the week, and I felt a sense of anticipation for what was to come. The following days of the Holy Week were marked by somber and reflective services. On Holy Thursday, we attended the Mass of the Lord's Supper, which commemorates the Last Supper that Jesus shared with his apostles. Good Friday is the most solemn day of the Holy Week, as we remember Jesus' crucifixion and death. Me and my family started the Holy Friday by going or visiting to different churches around the province, which we can refer to as “Visita Iglesia”, after that, there is a procession. Holy Friday is the day that is refered to as the day wherein the Lord Jesus Christ died, as a Christian being happy and celebrating during this day is prohibited due to that reason.  The Holy Week ends with Easter Sunday, which celebrates Jesus' resurrection from the dead. On this day, we attended a joyful mass with uplifting music and hymns. The atmosphere was full of hope and renewed faith, and I felt a sense of joy and gratitude for God's love and mercy. Honestly Easter Sunday is the day where I could say is the day I am looking forward to, because it is the day where people get to rejoice for the Lord has risen, I guess we could already speak of it as a tradition.

My experience during the Holy Week as a Christian was one of spiritual renewal and deepening of my faith. Through the various services and rituals, I was able to reflect on Jesus' love, sacrifice, and resurrection. It was a time of deepening my relationship with God and strengthening my commitment to living a life of love, compassion, and service to others. The Holy Week holds a special place in my heart, and I look forward to celebrating it again next year. Also my experience as student, I guess I can refer the Holy Week as a “Spiritual and Mental Break” because we all know that being a student is super stressful and tiring, everyday you need to do the exact same thing over and over again, the Holy Week break really did give me some time in order to take a break, to relax from the stress brought to us by being a student.
