When Someday became Yesterday (High School Day Celeb)

The High School Day is an event that is celebrated every year, on the 25th of February. It is an event to celebrate the founding of our beloved school, it is also an event to give thanks or recognize the services given by our beloved teachers. For the year 2023, Ilocos Sur National High School finally celebrated its 121st High School Day, the theme for this year’s High School Day is “Renewed Commitment in Defying Odds to Transcend Heights of Excellence and Solidarity”. For the past 3 years the High School Day wasn’t a grand celebration, in other words it was not that big of an event due to the restrictions brought to us by the deadly virus. Due to this reason students, teachers, alumni, and parents never got to experience the different events offered by the celebration.

The entire duration of the celebration gives a memorable experience to everyone specially to us students. The school invited a former outstanding student of the school, specifically an alumnus of the class of 2010, Atty. Lovely Lazo to give some Inspirational message to some of the audience. The school also recognized the outstanding teachers, employees, and as well as its retirees. Then comes, the so called highlight of the celebration the Field Demo, it is this event wherein students of the school got to showcase their talents. First Grade 9 students got to show their talents as they performed ”Festival Dance”, then the top 3 winners of the “hip-hop dance craze” grade 10 students also performed. I believe that celebrating High school day is a crucial event that holds immense significance for students. High school day is a special day that marks the end of an important chapter in a student's life, and it is a time to reflect on the journey so far and celebrate the achievements and milestones reached. In this essay, I will explore the importance of celebrating High school day and explain why this event should be prioritized in every school.


The first reason why High school day celebration is crucial is that it provides students with a sense of closure. High school is a time of great change, growth, and development, and celebrating High school day is an opportunity for students to bring that chapter of their lives to a close. It is a time to say goodbye to friends, teachers, and classmates, and to move forward with a sense of accomplishment and pride.The second reason why celebrating High school day is important is that it creates a sense of community and togetherness. High school is a unique environment that brings together students from diverse backgrounds, and High school day is an occasion to celebrate the bonds that have been formed. It is a time to reflect on the memories and experiences shared, and to appreciate the people who have made that journey memorable.

Thirdly, High school day celebration serves as an opportunity for students to acknowledge their academic achievements. Completing high school is a significant accomplishment, and it is a moment that should be celebrated. High school day is a time to recognize the hard work and dedication that has gone into achieving academic success, and to encourage students to continue pursuing their goals beyond high school. High school day celebration inspires students to aim for greater heights. It is a time to reflect on the future and to set new goals and aspirations. Celebrating High school day reminds students that the end of high school is not the end of their journey but the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.


Celebrating High school day is a crucial event that holds immense significance for students. Therefore, I strongly believe that every school should prioritize High school day celebration and make it a memorable event for students. The High School Day is an event that only comes once a year, it is an event that brings an unforgettable experience not just to students but also teachers, staff, alumni, also parents.

  During the 1st Quarter Our teacher taught us a lot of lessons mainly the Origin of the Internet. I have also learned the history of Philippine Internet, she also thought us how to write a blog, The importance of Protocool, different kinds of Search Engines and Search Terms.   There can’t be a quarter where there are no problems I encountered. In the 1st Quarter the main problems I encountered are the difficulty in Answering during quizzes, also I have no knowledge in our topic because I am not that good in computer. I have addressed this challenge by putting more effort in this subject and by doing that I can say that I enjoy this subject a lot because It is fun, plus our teacher is fun, and approachable.   Moving on I hope that I can still learn more about computers because this knowledge is helpful in real life. A quick retrospective on my ICT 10 Q2 Journey

How fast it has been, I feel like it was just yesterday when we started Quarter 2 and now I can’t believe that I am now writing a Q2 journey draft. In Quarter 1 we learned about the history of the Internet and now we have learned about Html Tags. Q2 was a 4-month long journey, on the first week we studied Introduction to Html Tags, these days I have no idea about tags and HTML because I have no knowledge or background in computers, which is why I have a high interest in this subject, I want to learn new things.   Teachers, Educators, or To Our Second Parents, the one who teaches us in school. From the lowest to the highest grade level they are the one who educates us, guide us, and also care for us. A world without a teacher is nothing but a uneducated world, because teachers are the one's who created professionals, without teachers there will be no Doctors, engineers, lawyers, and many more. I wanna express my gratitude to all of my teachers, for their unconditional care and support for us, their student. There is a teacher whom what he said, I can never forget "The greatest treasure or wealth a teacher can have is to see their student succeed". That message have made my respect for teachers even higher. Honestly before he said that I only see my teachers as a Instructor or a grade giver, but now I see my teachers as a Second Parent because they guide me and give me lessons that can later be used in life.
