Manggagawang Pilipino, Saludo Ako sa Inyo

Labor Day ( Araw ng mga Manggaggawa) is   a day wherein it is celebrated in order to commemorate all of the Filipino Worker (Manggagawang Pilipino). On the 1st of May  every year, the holiday is celebrated all throughout the country, as a day to give tribute to all the Filipino workers, as it originated back in May 1, 1903, 100,000 employees were organized by the country's first labor organization, “Union Obrera Democratica de Filipina (U.O.D.F.),” to march from Tondo's Plaza Moriones to Malacanang. 120 years later, today it is still celebrated, it is a day off for the general population, and schools and most businesses are closed. Labor Day is often used as a day to defend workers' rights.

Labor Day is a significant day in the Philippines as it is a time for workers to raise awareness about the issues and challenges facing them. The holiday provides an opportunity for workers to demand better working conditions, higher wages, and improved benefits. The day is also an occasion for labor organizations and unions to hold rallies and demonstrations to highlight the importance of labor rights and the protection of workers' interests. It is not uncommon to see parades, speeches, and other events organized by labor groups on this day. Celebrating the contributions of workers to the country's economy and society, Labor Day in the Philippines is a reminder of the ongoing struggle for workers' rights and fair labor practices. It is a day for workers to come together and demand the respect and recognition they deserve.

Money brought by Filipino workers take up a huge percentage in the economy of the Philippines, just by that alone we can already tell how significant or important they are to us. Furthermore, we also need to give our uttermost respect and gratitude to the workers who risk their lives just for our sake, people who maintains the balance in society, and people who puts food on our table.

“Every Filipino workers should be treated equally”, those are the word I stand by, I know that everyday millions of Filipino workers get to experience difficulties like, discrimination, under-employment, low or lack of salary, there are workers that are treated and paid like a royalty , and there are also some who gets treated and paid far more worse than a servant. Until this kind of inequality ceases to exist protests, strikes, or even go as far as rebellion, victims of workplace inequality will never stop until they get until they get the pay, treatment, and justice they deserve.

Labor Day in the Philippines is a reminder of the significant contributions of Filipino workers to the country's economy and society. It is a time to acknowledge the challenges faced by workers and to demand better working conditions, higher wages, and improved benefits. The day serves as an opportunity for labor organizations and unions to hold rallies and demonstrations, highlighting the importance of labor rights and the protection of workers' interests. As we celebrate Labor Day, we must continue to advocate for the equal treatment and recognition of all Filipino

 workers.
